Panel Discussion
March 9, 2016
SOMArts Cultural Center
The Timeless Motion panel discussion focused on celebrating the history of underground cinema in the Bay Area. Film artists, scholars and curators who have been key participants and witnesses to the movement shared memories, recounted the history, discussed the challenges faced by the community and offered speculations for its future. Moderated by Denah Johnston (Professor, San Francisco City College), speakers included Craig Baldwin (Filmmaker and Curator of Other Cinema), Steve Anker (Instructor at CalArts, former Director of SF Cinematheque) and Liz Keim (Director and Senior Curator of The Exploratorium's Cinema Arts Program).
